IBM Centers for e-Business Innovation The IBM Centers for e-Business Innovation are marketing and collaboration centers designed to convey and reinforce the essence of the IBM e-Business brand through the creation of a day-long, technologically immersive, educational and interactive experience. The centers are facilities where companies can access all of the expertise needed to strategize, develop, implement and manage web based e-business solutions. We orchestrated all of the physical and experiential aspects of the centers from a holistic approach that is a convergence of architecture, immersive media and 'smart' technology. The architecture is designed to create conditions of possibility, not just in space but in TIME. The guest catalysizes an EVENT space through the combination of highly individual requirements with a sensitivity to time and the potential of the architecture-technology environment. The environment is FLEXIBLE and changes over time; everything from network architecture to physical architecture is scalable and upgradeable. The space is OPEN in every sense, creating an environment of accessibility and approachability. Walls and partitions elegantly slide and rotate into place for situations that require more or less privacy. Custom materials reinforce continuity and spatial extension through transparency and layering and media virtual windows are juxtaposed with real views to reinforce the simultaneity of web space and real space.
